Our long-time treasurer, Carol King, has added up our contributions to various organizations over the years, and the final tally is in. Princeton Friends of Opera began in 2002 to support what turned out to be the final season of the Opera Festival of New Jersey's in the summer of 2003. After the Opera Festival of New Jersey closed in November 2003, we decided to continue to support opera and became Princeton Friends of Opera. Jean Brown, Pamela Bristol and Carol Morrison were very involved in this transformation. Since that time, PFO has enjoyed many events, outings, performances, and parties. In total, since 2002, we have raised and distributed just over $70,000 for local opera and student scholarships.
