Melissa Simmons - PFO Scholarship Recipient

From Maureen Llort, Director of Development for Trenton Children's Chorus...

This year's recipient is a WONDERFUL young woman, just the best! She is a frequent soloist for Trenton Children's Chorus, has perfect pitch and nails it every time.

Melissa is one of the featured students in our 5-minute video about TCC which can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfxzRleacow.

Again, thanks SO much! What a wonderful opportunity this is for this remarkable young lady. Hooray for PFO!

Melissa Simmons has been a member of the Trenton Children's Chorus for 10 years. A native of Trenton, she is a sophomore at Villa Victoria where she sings with both the a cappella and music ministry groups. Under the guidance of the school’s music theory teacher, she and a friend are writing a mass. Melissa serves as soprano section leader in TCC’s Chorale and is also employed by TCC as a rehearsal assistant with the younger choirs. She enjoys history, reading, the color blue, and hopes someday to become a doctor. The Princeton Friends of Opera scholarship will enable Melissa to attend Vocal Institute at Westminster Choir College this summer, a two-week residential intensive music program.
