Verdi’s classic explores themes of jealousy, revenge, and love, which play out against a hauntingly beautiful landscape riven by war. Best known for its ‘gypsy’ music, IL TROVATORE also includes wonderful music for all four of his leads, as well as a host of thrilling ensembles and chorus numbers. This is the first revival of David Bösch’s new production, conducted by Richard Farnes and starring Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Anita Rachvelishvili, Lianna Haroutounian and Gregory Kunde.
